CMA Rating Calculator (version 2011)

The Excel program, CMA Rating Calculator, is made available for interested CMA boat owners to examine their boat rating prior to their decision for boat/rig/sail modifications.  We will update this program as the CMA Rating Formula is revised in the future.  Current program is for the version 2011.  The rating number calculated by this program is unofficial.  Occasionally, there might be a minor difference in the last digit from the official rating, which is due to the difference in the number of digit carried during the calculation between this program and that used for the official calculation. 

In using this program, please do not attempt typing in a number where the column is expressed in red letters.  These are parameters calculated by the program.  The parameters that can be modified are in black letters.  Please also note that there are several “drop down choice” columns, such as the Light Sail combination choice and Propeller parameters.  For these columns, click on the cell and chose the input from the drop down menu.  For the details of the calculation involved, please refer to the Rating Formula, and for information on each input parameters and how they can be obtained, please also check the “Boat Measurement for CMA Rating”.
