Nat Harrison has planned a Land-Sea Rendezvous on June 19, 2004.
Nat writes:
"A multihull raft-up and shore-side picnic is being held on Wilson Creek off
the Ware River. The Ware River is off Mobjack Bay, in the lower
Chesapeake. Bring your family or friends!
The raft-up/picnic is planned for Saturday, June 19, 2004. The
pot-luck dinner will be at the home of Pat and Bob Englert on Wilson Creek.
The Englert's dock can be identified with the large (5' x 3'), blue CCMA
burgee and is available to tie-up/raft-up or dinghy ashore. The social
hour starts around 3:00 PM with dinner around 5:30 PM.
Please brind a main dish, MAJOR salad, Heavy hor d' vours or Serious
desert, enough to serve 6 to 8 adults. Plan to provide your own choice
of beverage. Paper plates, cups and eating utensils will be provided.
A serving table will be available.
Maps and directions will be posted (when I get them scanned - Phil)
for both land and sea routes. Wilson Creek is off Route #17 in
Gloucester County, VA. The site is about 1 hour north of Norfolk, VA
and 2 hours southeast of Fredericksburg, VA, or about 3 hours from
Annapolis, MD via route 301 (south) and #17 (south). Several small,
locally owned motels are nearby for those from out-of-town or withot boats.
Please phone Nat (703-256-9461) or Bob (804-693-5191) if you have any
questions or need more information.
If you are not familiar with the Mobjack Bay area, plan on being
self-sufficient. There are no nearby marina facilities for food, ice,
fuel, trash removal or holding tank pumpout.
See you there!!"
